What is it?
This is an inflammation/infection of the eyelids and eyelash follicles, causing redness, itchiness and scaling of the lid margins.
What causes it?
It is frequently associated with a fungal dermatitis of the eyebrows and scalp (dandruff).Sometimes it may be a form of eczema or dermatitis.
If blepharitis becomes chronic it can lead to loss or ingrown of the eyelashes, and secondary bacterial infection may occur.

Treat any scalp dandruff.

Bathe the eyes with a sea salt solution to remove any scales from the lashes.

Remove any ingrown eyelashes.
