Food Intolerance Test

The only intolerance test endorsed by Allergy UK Food intolerance, or sensitivity, has been linked to many chronic and persistent problems such as:

  • headaches,

  • intestinal symptoms,

  • skin problems,

  • behavioural changes

  • asthma

  • and many others...

The YORKTEST foodSCAN tests measure specific IgG antibodies to identify foods to which you may be sensitive.  The presence of IgG antibodies indicates a possible sensitivity to a particular food.

The YORKTEST Service – The Easy Way to Find Your Problem Foods:

York Test Kit

STEP 1. Take an appointment to get your YORK TEST done.

STEP 2. Using the YORK TEST kit, we take a pin prick sample of blood and soak it up on the cotton wand and place it in the small vial.  Then we post it back to the YORK TEST labs in England.

STEP 3. When your sample is received back at the laboratory, it is extracted from the wand using dilutent and one of the qualified lab technicians will test the sample using one of the foodSCAN Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) tests

STEP 4. The results will be recieved in 15 days. The YORK TEST uses an easy to understand traffic light system – the foods in the green section are all okay to eat freely, the foods listed in the yellow section should only be eaten every 4-5 days, and the foods in the red section are those you should avoid.

STEP 5. To accompany your results, there is a comprehensive information pack, including a 12-week food diary, a booklet containing some tips on how to keep motivated and a   Guidebook that details the foods families, and vitamin and mineral information.
